CCNA Journey - Week 0
Day 1:
- Started Jeremy's IT Lab
- Learned about multimode and singlemode fiber along with UTP cables
- Completed lab connecting crossover cables and straight-through cables between switches, routers, and endhosts
Day 2:
- Learned about OSI Model (7 Layers) and TCP/IP Model (4 Layers)
- 3 Top Layers of OSI are Application, Presentation, and Session which are combined into the Application layer of TCP/IP Model
- Data link and physical layer of OSI are combined into the Link layer of TCP/IP
- Network Engineers deal with the bottom 4 layers: Transport, Network, Data link, and physical
Day 3:
- Learned about command line interface
- User EXEC, Privileged EXEC, Configure Terminal
- service password-encryption encrypts 'enable password' in running-conf
- Completed lab reinfacing the CLI. Changed hostname, enabled password, secret, and copied running-config to startup-config
Day 4 - 8:
- 5 day hiatus due to overtime at work
Day 9:
- Priming brain by doing flashcards/review on days 1 through 3
